The 3 Best Places to Go Fishing Near Jellystone Park™

Moraine State Park

Moraine State Park is located just a short drive from Jellystone Park and offers a variety of fishing opportunities. There are more than 15 different lakes and ponds to choose from and over 50 miles of streams on this 16,000 acre state park. Fishing is allowed year-round in Moraine State Park, so you can come anytime and enjoy the peaceful surroundings while trying to reel in a big one.

Upper Slippery Rock Creek

Upper Slippery Rock Creek is another great spot for fishing near Jellystone Park™. This creek is located in the Butler County area and is known for its excellent trout fishing. The creek is open to fishing from the first Saturday in April through Labor Day weekend. You’ll need to get a Fishing License from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission if you want to fish in Upper Slippery Rock Creek.

Lake Willhelm

If you’re looking for a large lake to fish in, then Lake Willhelm is the place for you. This man-made lake in Mercer County offers over 1,600 acres of fun fishing. Fishing is allowed year-round on Lake Willhelm, and you can catch a variety of fish, including bass, catfish, and walleye. You can find the lake within Maurice K. Goddard State Park, which has other fun stuff to do, such as exploring the wetlands and seeing the birds that dot the skies.
