5 of Our Favorite Things to Do near Pittsburgh in the Fall

Follow the Falling Leaves

If you haven’t experienced the fall foliage near Pittsburgh before, then you’re in for quite a treat. Colorful treetops paint the skyline with golden yellow, fiery orange, and warm red hues. Follow the falling leaves and explore some of the nearby state parks to take in the beauty of nature. We recommend visiting:

  • Lake Arthur
  • McConnells Mill State Park
  • Clear Creek State Forest

Get Spooked at a Haunted House

For fans of horror, you’re going to love the haunted houses in the area! Some of these attractions can be quite scary, so be sure to read up about each one before taking your kids.

Visit a Local Orchard or Farm

Maybe you’re searching for the perfect glass of apple cider. Perhaps you’d like to take the kids out to a farm to pick their own pumpkin. Either way, you’re in luck. Here are a handful of orchards and farms that you should consider stopping by during your visit to our region:

Travel Tip: Many of these local farms and orchards host their own fall festivals!

Zombie “Dead-Ication” Weekend | September

Be prepared to lose your mind at Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest as the undead rise around the campground! This weekend is dead-icated to Zombies. During your weekend get-away you will have an opportunity to come face to face with the undead while getting your face painted to look just like them in our Zombie Face Painting.  Compete against the Zombies down at the Battle Company Laser Tag Field in our Humans vs. Zombies Laser Tag Sessions. We will also be playing Zombie Tag and having our Zombie Brain Relay Races. Once the sun goes down on Saturday night, it is time for us to get this Zombie outbreak under control! Let’s load up our nerf guns and jump on our Zombie battle wagon in our Zombie Takeover Hayride. Can’t come this weekend?  Not to worry – we have similar plans the following weekend, September 17-19, 2021.  If you are a fan of the undead and are looking to lose your mind with a weekend full of family fun, then book your stay now at Jellystone Park at Kozy Rest!
